Building Resilient Learners: Summer Institute at the Schoenbaum Family Center, Columbus

The Schoenbaum Family Center extends an invitation to all local librarians to spend an informative and important day at the Schoenbaum Family Center and Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy’s inaugural Summer Institute at The Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

This year’s conference will engage participants in conversations and learning opportunities around the theme of Building Resilient Learners.  The conference will provide early childhood educators, social workers, administrators, coaches, librarians, and clinicians with an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations around adversity and young children. Keynote speakers and breakout sessions will emphasize strategies to promote resilience in young children, by fostering protective factors that can buffer the negative effects of poverty, stress, and trauma in early childhood. The dialogue and practical strategies offered to practitioners at this event will inspire attendees to implement best practices when working with young children who have experienced adversity.

An Early Bird registration rate of $75 is available through Friday, May 11. Regular registration after May 11 is $100.
